The terms for using Ariade.
Effective 16 September 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and liqpil, which operates Ariade ("Ariade", "we"), for the Ariade app for macOS, the ariade.me website and the Ariade coaching service (together, "the Service").
1. Using the Service
By creating an account or using the Service you accept these terms and the privacy policy. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live. If you downloaded the app from the Mac App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app itself; where the two conflict, these terms govern your relationship with Ariade and Apple's agreement governs your relationship with Apple.
2. What Ariade is, and is not
Ariade is a private, real-time conversation coach. During a conversation it shows you short cues based on what it hears. Cues are suggestions produced by an automated system. They can be wrong, late or irrelevant, and the tone labels it shows are estimates, not facts about another person. You remain responsible for what you say and do.
Ariade is not a recorder, a transcription service or a note-taker, and it is not a substitute for legal, medical, financial, therapeutic or professional advice.
3. Your responsibilities
- Comply with the laws that apply to you, including laws on recording, monitoring or analysing conversations. Where the people you talk to must be informed or must consent, it is your job to inform them or obtain consent before you start listening.
- Do not use Ariade to deceive or manipulate others, to gain an unfair advantage in interviews, examinations, legal proceedings or other assessments, or in any way that breaks a rule, policy or contract you are bound by.
- Do not attempt to access other users' data, to interfere with the Service, to reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows, or to use automated means to call the Service outside the app.
- Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
4. Plans and subscriptions
The Free plan includes a monthly allowance of coached minutes on a lighter coaching model. Ariade Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, bought through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the price shown at purchase unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel it in your Apple account settings; cancelling stops future renewals and Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Pro includes a monthly fair-use allowance; beyond it, coaching continues on the lighter model for the rest of the month. We may change the allowances, prices or features of the plans; price changes to an existing subscription take effect only after Apple has notified you and, where required, you have agreed.
5. Your content
The goals, context, ratings, answers and recaps you enter or keep remain yours. You grant Ariade the right to process them as needed to run and improve the Service, as described in the privacy policy. You are responsible for having the right to use any information you enter about other people.
6. Ariade's content
The app, the website, the Service and their design, text and code belong to Ariade or its licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Macs you own or control, and nothing more.
7. Availability and changes
The Service depends on third-party providers (Apple, Google, Anthropic and network operators) and may be interrupted. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and may end the Service altogether with reasonable notice. We may update these terms; if a change matters, the app or the website will tell you, and continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the change.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that creates a legal or security risk for the Service or other users; if we do, we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Ariade disclaims all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose, and is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, for decisions you take based on cues, or for the outcome of any conversation. Ariade's total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
